Hey! You are beautiful ☺️

The definition of beautiful is so much underrated. Have you ever seen someone calling you a beautiful soul or acclaiming someone to have a beautiful mind? Pretty rare!

When we see someone physically attractive we tend to label them as beautiful. Yes, indeed they might be. But I guess there is no sorted definition of beauty. Has God made any scale to assess someone else’s beauty from 0 to 10? Or give us any judgemental powers to comment on someone regarding their beauty?

If the answer to these questions is no then why are we so trapped in these social norms? Judging others on the part of being dark or white, fat or skinny doesn’t make any sense. One should know that real beauty lies within oneself. What if someone is so attractive in their outer self but rude to others? Will it be still beautiful?

Being beautiful is not about the colour of your skin. It’s neither about wearing makeup to please the outer world. It means to be kind and polite in one’s heart. One can buy expensive surgery to look good but if their intentions are not, then that high cost of operations turned out to be nil.

It is often said that the first impression is the last. This is misunderstood. One can dress up in expensive clothes but if he does not know how to behave or talk then that $1000 dress would be valued zero. It can be you or people around you who have set up the great definition of “beauty”.

It is very easy to comment on others regarding their physical appearance but deep down another person could suffer mentally. This could lead to a plunge in their morale leading to stressing over things and even has a great chance of trapping themselves in depression. One single comment can make other people feel pathetic about themselves.

So, the point is that nobody should be judged. This world belongs to everyone regardless of their body type, shape or colour. Being happy the way you are or helping others to realise that they are perfect the way they are should be the major goal. A healthy environment should be established which means nobody should be judged regarding not having a perfect body. Love towards oneself and others is what is needed. At last, I would like to say that, “hey! You are beautiful”.

That Empty Feeling

EVER ASKED YOURSELF A QUESTION ARE YOU OKAY? IS IT TOO HEAVY TO HOLD? WHAT’S GOING IN YOUR MIND? ANSWERING THEM CAN BE QUITE DIFFICULT. SO HAVE YOU TAKEN ANY HELP YET? NO.
SHOCKINGLY EVERY 7 OUT OF 10 INDIAN IS SUFFERING FROM THIS MENTAL TRAUMA SILENTLY. THE REASON BEHIND THIS IS THE OLD CONCEPTION WHERE MENTAL HEALTH IS ALWAYS TAKEN AS A SERIOUS VULNERABLE DISEASE.
IT WAS 2020 THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A YEAR OF UNKNOWN; BUT 2021 IS PLANNING TO BE EVEN BIGGER TEST. LOSS OF JOBS LEADING TO NO INCOMES, PAYMENT OF CHILDREN FEES, ARRANGING FOOD ETC. ALWAYS LEAD TO DISTURBING OUR EMOTIONAL STABILITY. THE LEVELS OF ANXIETY, FEAR, ISOLATION, SOCIAL DISTANCING AND EMOTIONAL DISTRESS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS VIRUS HAVE BECOME WIDESPREAD AS THE WORLD STRUGGLES TO BRING COVID-19 UNDER CONTROL. THESE STRUGGLES ALWAYS LEADS TO WRONG THOUGHTS LIKE SUICIDE, OWNER KILLING ETC. JUST TO ESCAPE FROM THE SITUATION.
WE PEOPLE ALWAYS PUT A STRESS ON OUR PHYSICAL HEALTH TOP WE KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT SUPERFOODS, THE LATEST DIET TRENDS OR WORKOUTS BUT WHEN IT COMES TO MENTAL HEALTH, THE AWARENESS JUST ISN’T THERE. HALF OF US AREN’T EVEN AWARE THAT WE MAY BE SUFFERING FROM ANY FORM OF MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES.

IN OUR COUNTRY LIKE INDIA , THE DISCOVERY OF MENTAL ILLNESS IS OFTEN FOLLOWED BY DENIALS AND HESITATION TO SEEK HELP. DESPITE IT’S ENORMOUS SOCIAL BURDEN, MENTAL HEALTH REMAINS A TABOO SUBJECT THAT IS SUSPECTIBLE TO AGE OLD STIGMAS, PREJUDICES AND FEARS.MOST PEOPLE SWIPE THIS ISSUE UNDER THE CARPET AND REMAIN SILENT.NO DOUBT PHYSICAL HEALTH MATTERS A LOT BUT THOSE WHO ARE PRONE TO PSYCHOLOGICAL PROBLEMS ARE SPECIALLY VULNERABLE. ACCORDING TO, WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION 7.5% INDIANS SUFFER FROM SOME MENTAL DISORDER.
SO WHAT TO DO? WE, THE YOUNG GENERATION HAS TO COME IN THE FRONTLINE IN ORDER TO BREAK THIS STIGMA. THERE ARE MANY WAYS THAT CAN BE FOLLOWED. FIRSTLY, EVERYONE SHOULD BE EDUCATED THAT MENTAL HEALTH IS NOT ANY DISEASE. IT CAN BE CURED IF IDENTIFIED. SEVERAL WORKSHOPS AND PROGRAMS MUST BE CONDUCTED IN ORDER TO PROVIDE MORE AWARENESS ABOUT THIS TOPIC. ALL MUST LEARN HOW TO IDENTIFY RED FLAG SIGNS OF MENTAL HEALTH CONCERNS IN THEMSELVES AND OTHERS. NEXT, THEY SHOULD BE ENCOURAGED TO TALK OPENLY, WITHOUT ANY HESITATION ABOUT ANY ISSUE WHICH IS TRIGGERING THEM. AT THE END, IF IT’S HARD TO HANDLE ONE MUST SEEK PROFESSIONAL HELP.
MOREOVER, INTERNET AND SOCIAL MEDIA CAN PLAY A HUGE ROLE. WE MUST LEARN TO BALANCE OUR POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE FEELINGS. ALL OF US MAKE MISTAKES FROM TIME TO TIME; ALL OF US DEVELOP INVISIBLE MENTAL HEALTH CONCERNS. TO BE AWARE OF WHAT WE ARE THINKING, HOW WE ARE REACTING AND WHAT WE ARE DOING KEEP US BALANCED AS PERSONALITIES AND ALLOW US TO MAKE CRUCIAL CHANGES IN OUR LIVES. LET’S CELEBRATE EVERY DAY AS A MENTAL HEALTH DAY AND HELP EVERYONE STAMP OUT THE STIGMA.

Love Yourself

When Colbie Caillet said, “Do you like you? I felt : Do we really like us? Do we love ourselves the way we want others to love us?
Reading so many self-love quotes and even posting them. Does it make you a self-lover? Or else it’s just a social media thing.

Basically, we all hear about such quotes : love yourself, prioritise yourself over anyone but we are not actually doing so.

Loving Yourself is one of the toughest lesson, we are faced to learn. So instead of reading the whole post, WAIT WAIT, RELAX. Sit down on a couch and think for a minute; DO YOU REALLY LOVE YOURSELF? Or you are always offended with the people around you. So I encourage you to dig deeper into yourself and learn what it truly means to love yourself.

In my past, I went through several self judgements, people’s opinions and even was insecure about how i look which eventually took away many beautiful moments. Ugh! I regret it now.
I didn’t realised to why i was giving power to such thoughts? Which don’t even matter now. Wasted almost nineteen years of my life living in the bubble of criticism which actually don’t exist. No doubt, people around you matters but their opinion effecting your well being is not acceptable. No one will teach you to love yourself, it’s only the self realisation within you that will bring you out of the nasty paths.

It really means giving yourself some respect, attention and choosing to nurture and forgive yourself. The more you invest in yourself, the more you’ll bloom. So how will you get there? Here are some tips:

• Try talking about your problems to someone.. can’t share? Just write it on a diary. This will help you to feel free.

• Get up! See yourself in the mirror and say these magical words: I am proud of you,you little bud! Soon everything will be blooming.

• 1440 minutes in a day and can’t get only 15 minutes for yourself? Yes, just few minutes have power to lighten up your mood.

• Listen to your favourite playlist or podcasts ( mine favourite one is daily boost)

• Dress yourself! Wear what you want. Make yourself comfortable in that big tees, low cut shirt, shorts, pair of jeans and sneaks. Comfort matters and affects your self confidence.

• Exercise! Only for yourself ,not for people who think you need to. Comfortable being yourself.
Diet!? Not ready. Eat that gulab jamun, because if you didn’t, I promise you’ll still want that weekend after. So just go for it.

You don’t need to get hard on yourself. There’re already many people who don’t like you. Atleast don’t add up yourself to that list.
You all deserve a pat on the back from yourself. Hey you! Yes you ! You are already doing a great job. Don’t always doubt yourself . Love, believe me you are truly a blessing.

Through writing this blog i am already doing my favourite thing. Are you still deciding? Go and do that favourite thing you always wanted to.

It’s a small effort from my side to make you feel a little more like you..and someone you can really love:)
XOXO
